February 22, 2010 RE: Cain’s Quest 2010 Dear Friends, Family & Corporate Sponsors, As most of us have already experienced, this winter has been short of snow and cold temperatures in the northeast. Our friends in Labrador are experiencing these same extreme conditions. The Cain’s Quest Organizing Committee has been keeping a watchful eye on the weather conditions, especially along the North Coast of Labrador, and it appears that the ice conditions are deteriorating rather quickly inevitably creating a problem with accessibility for the proposed 2010 race course. The projected forecast in Labrador for the next couple of weeks is a continuation of warm temperatures and severe melts. Areas in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and along the North Coast are experiencing flooding and the waters have opened up preventing entry into many of these communities. With these conditions, it has created a safety issue for all racers, support teams, volunteers, and spectators. It is with great disappointment that the Cain’s Quest Organizing Committee is left with no other alternative and announced to postpone the 2010 race event until March of 2011. We [Team Maine Racing] feel in all safety measures of the race, the decision to postpone the event was the right one. Our commitment to the race, our supporters and Pine Tree Camp remains focused and we will continue in our preparation for the 2011 race. We greatly appreciate your support, sponsorships and donations, understanding that without it, Team 22 & Team 44 would not have been in a competitive position. We would also like to express our appreciation and recognize Pine Tree Camp. Even though our mission has been postponed, we are proud to have raised $1,500.00 this year for Pine Tree Camp. Our preparation will continue for the challenge of Cain’s Quest 2011. We thank you for all your ongoing support and contributions. Please feel free to contact any of us with any questions. Team Maine Racing 22 has finished 2nd Place, 4th Place and 5th place in the 09, 08 and 07 Cain's Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race in Labrador, Canada
Cain's Quest 2010 is scheduled to run from March 13th - 19th.
Team Maine Racing would like to Welcome Mike Perrino and Peter Ouellette to the Team, the will be racing as Team 44 in the 2010 Cain's Quest!!
