Dana Blackstone grew up in Winthrop, Maine and hasn’t gotten far from home.
He currently resides in Winthrop with his wife, Kim and 8 year old son,
Drew. He is an insurance agent working in the health insurance and
investment market with seniors and owns his agency, Blackstone Financial
Services that is located right in Winthrop.
Dana starting riding snowmobiles when he was growing up, his 1st
was a 1972 Chaparral 340. He consistently rides 3500 or more miles a
year with last year being 4800 miles. Unfortunately the winters have
not been good for snowmobiling in Maine the last 2 years and he has spent
lots of time in Quebec. He starting riding in Quebec around 2001 and
has gotten very familiar with many of the trails in Southern Quebec and is
starting to spend more time riding north of the St. Lawrence River.
Rich and Dana have been riding together since 2002 and have both become more
involved in this sport together. Dana met Rob several years ago thru the
Snowmobile Websites and they quickly became friends and have ridden around
9000 miles together since. Dana and his wife, spend a lot of
time riding with Rob and his wife, Tina.
When Rob came to Dana and Rich with the idea of entering the Cain’s Quest
race it was laughed about but as they talked more Team Maine began to form.
Dana isn’t going to race in the event but has taken on the role of Team
Manager/Support Crew to make sure that everything is in place for Rob and
Rich to be as competitive as possible.
